TikTok, the uber-popular short-video network, has begun testing the ephemeral Stories format to compete with Instagram. TikTok Stories is a new tool that allows producers to submit short movies that automatically vanish after 24 hours. It's similar to how stories operate on other social media sites like Instagram and Snapchat.
The new TikTok Stories feature was discovered by social marketing expert Matt Navarra, who shared the news on Twitter. The business later acknowledged to The Verge that it had begun testing the functionality. It is presently only available to a small number of people.
TikTok Stories now function similarly to the Stories format on any other site. It lets users post bite-sized material with various interactive features on TikTok by allowing them to access it through a right swipe on the home feed. After a day, it is automatically removed. Users may create and share a Story by tapping the newly introduced "Create" button on the left sidebar. They may also add subtitles, music, and text to their Stories to make them more interactive and enjoyable.

Users may also visit the profiles of content producers to view their Stories. They may also respond to and comment on Stories before they are removed after 24 hours. TikTok Stories, unlike WhatsApp or Instagram, allows users to post videos rather than static pictures.
“We are constantly thinking of new ways to provide value to our community and enhance the TikTok experience. “Right now, we're exploring methods to provide creators with more formats to bring their creative ideas to life for the TikTok community,” a spokesman told The Verge. The Tiktok Stories flow looks like this:

Since its introduction on Snapchat in 2013, the Stories format has been one of the most copied features. Following its introduction, numerous businesses, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and even Twitter, adopted the ephemeral format. However, on August 3, Twitter announced the discontinuation of its Fleets Stories feature.
TikTok Stories is presently available for a limited number of users on the platform. Nonetheless, based on Twitter tweets, it appears to be available to a significant number of TikTok content providers. However, it is unclear when or if TikTok will make the functionality available to the general public in the future. Furthermore, the Stories feature may attract additional users to the site as it seeks to re-enter India and address its difficulties with the US government.
