After releasing the title's minimum and recommended system requirements, EA has revealed some intriguing facts regarding Battlefield 2042. It is about a new map in Battlefield 2042 called 'Discarded.' This map is based on a town in Gujarat's Bhavnagar district, which is located in India. So, there will be a specific map based on the Indian setting in EA's next release.

The firm published a trailer for Battlefield 2042, which showed off all of the game's maps, including the Discarded map. It depicts a location named "Alang," which is located in Gujarat's Bhavnagar district.

In Battlefield 2042, a map has been discarded.

The trailer's first frames give us a birds-eye perspective of the setting. The map is laid out along a shoreline where massive ships have become stranded. In actual life, the town is the world's largest ship graveyard, and the world's longest ship, the Seawise Giant, was sailed and subsequently dismantled here in 2009.

Returning to the Battlefield 2042 India map, the Colossus, a massive ship carrying a stealth submarine, may be found in the center. Dice stated that this ship features many floors and capture points and zipline access from both inside and outside.

Following the same shoreline, players will arrive at several other landing sites brimming with boxes and more ships. A flood-ravaged hamlet and a petrol station are among the other places. The major goal is to protect nuclear assets, which I'm sure has a lot to do with that stealth submarine.

According to the map's official description, players will be able to traverse "a key part of India's west coast" and "battle within the hulls of these behemoths while adjusting to devastating storms." As a result, it will be a rather intense level in the game as you can expect. More information can be found on the official website, as well as a teaser for a first glance at the map:

The Developers’ POV

IGN India reached out to Dice following the launch of the Discarded map to learn more about the developers' thinking process behind the India-based map in Battlefield 2042. So, according to lead level designer Shashank Uchil, the firm has long planned to build an India-themed map.

Both the art and design teams spent significant time investigating how ships are broken at Alang and how the area surrounding it is built,” Uchil said in a statement.

We spent a lot of time watching movies and looking at satellite photos from all across Alang. One example would be the ship's side being torn apart, which can be seen in the Reveal Trailer at 0:55,” he said. Battlefield 2042 will be published on all major platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and, of course, PC, on October 22. It is now available for pre-order on Steam, Origin, and Epic Games.
