Mi Mix 4 with Under-Display Selfie Camera and 120W Fast Charging Has Been Released...
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is the company's first smartphone with an under-display camera.
Design
To begin with, the Mi Mix 4 has a fully bezel-less display on the front and a triple camera system on the back. The display seems to be a single sheet of glass from the front, with no intrusions such as a punch-hole or waterdrop notch. The rear cameras are contained inside a massive module that sits above a ceramic back panel.
Display and Cameras
The Mi Mix 4 may not have the insane surround display of the Mi Mix Alpha, but it does have a genuine bezel-less appearance owing to the under-display front camera. The gadget features a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with 10-bit color support, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision technologies to provide an immersive viewing experience. On top of that, it has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
As previously stated, there is a 20MP under-display camera at the front for selfies. The Mi Mix 4 is the first Xiaomi gadget to include such a front-facing camera. Xiaomi claims to have utilized a proprietary micro-diamond technique that decreases pixel sizes while increasing pixel brightness. Users may take better selfies with less distortion because of this technology.
THE XIAOMI MI MIX 4 IS THE FIRST XIAOMI SMARTPHONE TO INCLUDE AN UNDER-DISPLAY SELFIE CAMERA.
The triple camera configuration on the rear features a primary 1/1.33-inch 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HMX sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree FOV, and an 8MP periscope lens with 5x optical and 50x digital zoom capability. OIS is available on both the main and periscope cameras.
Internals and Battery
In terms of internals, the Mi Mix 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC, which has an Adreno 660 GPU. It supports up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Unfortunately, there is no microSD slot for expanding the internal storage.
There is also a 4,500mAh battery inside that supports 120W fast charging through the cable connection and 50W wireless fast charging. There are two charging modes to choose from: Boost Mode and Default Mode.
According to the firm, Mix 4 can charge from 0 to 100 percent in 28 minutes in Boost Mode and 45 minutes in Default Mode. The gadget also includes a graphene-based heat dissipation mechanism that protects the device from overheating during fast-charging periods.
Other Features and Connectivity
Aside from these sophisticated capabilities, the Mi Mix 4 also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric verification and a pair of Harman Kardon-tuned stereo speakers. At the bottom, there is a USB-C connection for charging and data transfer. The gadget, however, does not include a 3.5mm audio port.
The gadget supports 5G networks with ultra-wideband (UWB), Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC in terms of connection. According to the official blog post, UWB support allows you to simply “point your smartphone towards any compatible Xiaomi AIoT device, and automatically connect it to your device.”
The smartphone will be available in three color versions – Ceramic White, Ceramic Black, and Ceramic Gray – and will run MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.
